"A blot on Norway's reputation": Trump complains that the Nobel Peace Prize was given to a woman "no one has ever heard of"

US President Donald Trump stated that this year's Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to a woman "no one has ever heard of." He also added that he will not forget Norway for not awarding the prize to him
He wrote about this on the TruthSocial social network, as cited by The Guardian.
"The United States of America, represented by me as President, should have received the Nobel Peace Prize, but did not. And this is a blot on Norway and those people who made such a shameful decision," Trump stated.
He recalled that he "ended eight wars" and is going to "settle or win two more: Iran and Russia-Ukraine."
According to the US leader, the Nobel Peace Prize "was forever discredited by a handful of radical ideologues who are anti-democrats and truly enemies of civilization."
"We will not forget, Norway, that you did not hand out this prize," the head of the White House continued.
At the same time, Trump said that Navi Pillay from South Africa, who was awarded the prize, is someone "no one has ever heard of," but she "hates Israel."
"Despite all of this and all these incredible achievements, the Nobel Prize was awarded today to a liberal person working at the United Nations whom no one has ever heard of," he stated.
- On October 9, the Nobel Committee decided to award the 2026 Peace Prize to Navanethem (Navi) Pillay for her efforts in promoting peace and international law. The South African lawyer served as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in 2008-2014. She was a judge at the International Criminal Court and president of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, among other roles.
