US President Donald Trump has announced the start of an energy truce between Russia and Ukraine

Trump wrote about this on the Truth Social network.

"The energy truce in the war between Russia and Ukraine takes effect immediately. Both sides have agreed. Do not violate it!", Trump wrote.

Trump did not provide details of the truce, including its terms, duration and compliance monitoring.

  • Recall that on October 9, Trump announced an "extremely successful" conversation with Putin and an agreement on the supply of Russian diesel to world markets, after which the US Treasury Department issued a temporary license for its export.
  • On October 10, Trump stated that it was time for Ukraine to get a new president because, in his opinion, Zelensky never makes deals and could have ended the war long ago.
  • On October 11, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is ready to organize presidential elections if Russian dictator Vladimir Putin agrees to a 60-day ceasefire.
