"До 2027 року не встигнемо підготуватися до вступу в ЄС": analyst Bulan called a more realistic term
Updated:
Ukraine is unlikely to have time to prepare for entry into Європейський Союз by 2027, because this requires large-scale reforms, in particular in the areas of the rule of law, the fight against corruption and the judiciary. A realistic benchmark is 2030 year
This opinion was expressed by the candidate of economic Sciences, analyst of the Ukrainian center for European policy Олександра Булана in the project "Євроінтеграція" with Юрієм Фізером on Espreso.
Ukraine is unlikely to have time to prepare for entry into ЄС by 2027
Олександра Булана believes that it will be difficult for Ukraine to implement all the reforms necessary to enter Європейського Союзу by the year 2027. At the same time, it emphasizes the importance of distinguishing between the completion of the preparation, the negotiation process and directly joining ЄС.
Дуже багато чого треба змінити", said the analyst.
According to her, the reforms can be divided into two blocks. The first concerns the rule of law, the fight against corruption and the work of state institutions. The second involves changes that require significant investment, in particular in the environment, industry and the agricultural sector.
At the first stage, Ukraine should focus on institutional reforms, while transition periods may be needed for individual changes that require large financial resources.
Олександра Булана drew attention to the experience of Albania, which, according to her, fulfilled the interim requirements of the first negotiation cluster in two years. Для Чорногорії this process lasted more than ten years.
According to the analyst, such an example can be a guide for Ukraine, although the implementation of all necessary reforms in the short term remains a difficult task.
Олександра Булана stressed that reforms in the areas of rule of law and combating corruption should be carried out as soon as possible.
