Former football player of Ukraine, Kiev «Динамо» and a number of clubs Роман Максимюк died in the war against Russia.

Максимюк joined the army in the fall of 2022 and 30 January 2025 went missing while on a combat mission in the Pokrovsky direction.
The death of the soldier was confirmed by the results of ДНК examination.
