On Saturday, 10 October, at the War Museum in Kiev, a meeting was held with residents of Oleshki, who broke out of the occupation. Eyewitnesses told about the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the city, which was called "голодом 21 століття"

This was reported by Еспресо Максим Кулик.

The meeting was held with the participation of Володимира Костяна and other residents of Oleshkiv, who at one time were able to escape from Russian captivity and occupation. 10 October witnesses gathered to share their experiences and talk about the humanitarian situation in their hometown.

According to the participants of the meeting, currently about 2,5 thousand people are forced to survive in Oleshki without light, water and medicine under constant blows of enemy drones. One of the residents directly called the situation in the city "голодом 21 століття".

Kostyan categorically refuted the information that is distributed on the Internet about local residents. According to him, statements that in Oleshki now remain exclusively "ждуни", false, because all the supporters of the invaders have long left the city.

"Ждунів там немає. Ті, хто чекав (на російських окупантів - ред.), уже всі виїхали: Скадовськ, Крим, Краснодар", said Kostyan.

According to him, the last local known to him, who helped the Russian military, was liquidated in April 2026. The rest who remained in the occupied territory do not know what to do, or do not dare to leave through their parents. Kostyan urges his friends to leave and assures that they will help with the documents.

"Кажу їм: виїжджайте, статус вам тут зроблять, громадська організація допоможе. Не їдуть. Батьки не хочуть залишати свій дім", he said.

Kostyan said that people come out of Oleshky on foot: one of his friends left after the drone hit. According to him, it is not necessary to go on foot, so he himself left by car.

Окремо Костян stressed that the same situation in the neighboring Голій Пристані.

  • Начальниця Олешківської МВА Тетяна Гасаненко stated that with May the city is in complete logistics blockade.
  • 13 September Foreign Minister Андрій Сибіга said Russia was effectively trapping the civilian population of Oleshkov, with no access to food, medicine and essentials, and called for immediate access to the city and the creation of humanitarian corridors.
