Prime Minister Угорщини Петер Мадяр said that he sees no obstacles for the transit of Ukrainian grain through the country to Західної Європи. He stressed that it is about cargoes that only pass through its territory

Madyar said this in an interview with RTL on his way home from the ЄС summit in Brussels.

According to Madyar, at the plenary session of the summit, the President of Володимир Зеленський said that grain exports through the Black Sea are currently impossible. Therefore, he asked Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary, as at the beginning of the war, to allow the transit of Ukrainian grain to the Західної Європи countries.

The Prime Minister added that 3-4 years ago for this was a clear procedure, but later it stopped working.

Zelensky’s first meeting with Madyar: will it become a turning point in relations between Ukraine and Hungary

During the conversation alone, Зеленський repeated this request. According to Madyar, it would be most helpful if grain, in particular corn, could be transported to Західної Європи by sealed trains.

"Я сказав, що якщо це лише проходить територією країни, то, очевидно, цьому немає перешкод", Madyar said.

On the meeting itself, the Hungarian Prime Minister said that it was short, less than a quarter of an hour. The parties agreed to continue talks at the ministerial level and find joint projects in Transcarpathia, in particular, repairing schools or hospitals or economic investments.

"Через кілька місяців, якщо переговори йтимуть добре і виконуватиметься домовленість щодо національних меншин, ми зустрінемося", Madyar added.

  • We will remind, the President of Володимир Зеленський warned that in many countries may come famine due to the blocking of Russian sea routes. At the same time, the world, according to him, is talking only about diesel and forgets about grain.
