If elections are held during the war, I will run, - Зеленський
President Володимир Зеленський said that he would run in the elections if they were held during the war. He explained that he considers it his responsibility, because he must protect the country from the beginning to the end of this war

Зеленський stated this in an interview with "Зустріч з пресою" on NBC News.
The presenter recalled that Trump urged Zelensky to resign, and he himself said that in 60 days of peace the country will organize elections, and asked if he was ready to leave his post. The president did not give a direct answer and spoke about the timing of the elections.
"Нам потрібно пів року після завершення війни, щоб підготувати вибори. Це не лише закон, це заходи безпеки, але це після війни", he said.
If Trump and Путін really want elections earlier, this is primarily the choice of the Ukrainian people, Зеленський emphasized. This requires at least 60 days of truce without any other negotiations: during this time, Ukraine will try to change the law and prepare the security infrastructure. However, holding elections in such a short time, according to him, "виглядає абсолютно небезпечним", because the choice must be honest.
"Нам потрібно, щоб наші солдати мали можливість голосувати, бо вони справді захищають країну", the president stressed.
He added that the statement that he does not want elections is false and dishonest, and this is understood in the world.
Separately, the host asked whether he would run if Ukraine had reached the point when elections can be held.
"Якщо це буде під час війни, звісно, це моя відповідальність, бо я маю захищати свою країну від початку до кінця цієї війни"," replied Зеленський.
- Recall that 10 October trump said that Ukraine is time to get a new president, because Зеленський, in his opinion, never makes deals and could have ended the war long ago.
- 11 October Володимир Зеленський said that Ukraine is ready to organize presidential elections if the Russian dictator Володимир Путін agrees to a ceasefire for a period of 60 days.
- Subsequently, the Kremlin rejected Zelensky’s idea of a truce for the sake of elections.
