This is reported by The Wall Street Journal.

According to sources familiar with the materials of Saudi intelligence and the Yemeni alliance that opposes the Houthis, Tehran’s support gave the group the opportunity to organize some of the most powerful and complex attacks of the entire confrontation.

Допомога Ірану was not limited to the supply of weapons. Tehran also passed intelligence, contributed to the guidance of missiles and drones and helped militants to improve tactics.

Підтримка Ірану contributed to the Houthi offensive, during which they quickly seized territories in Yemen. The group now controls part of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait coast, which is a strategically important sea route for the export of Saudi oil.

The Houthis are also attacking oil tankers, energy infrastructure and Саудівської Аравії airports. Among these are the attack in Riyadh last weekend, which, according to the publication, killed at least 13 people.

Military cooperation with the Houthis allows Tehran to put pressure on regional rivals through allied armed groups. This also complicates the efforts of the President of США Дональда Трампа and American partners from the Persian Gulf countries who are trying to end the war with Iran on favorable terms.

«Зв’язок на оперативному рівні дуже, дуже міцний», said Денні Цитринович, the former head of the Iranian branch of Israeli military intelligence.

According to him, Iran is interested in the success of the Houthis, because their attacks harm Саудівській Аравії and can contribute to the growth of oil prices. The expert believes that the relations between the parties go beyond the usual interaction of the patron and the dependent group and constitute strategic cooperation.
