На Дніпропетровщині three police officers suspected of robbery
Three police officers of Dnipropetrovsk region are suspected of organizing and committing a robbery against a resident of Nikopol to take possession of his cryptocurrency and cash.
This is reported by the press service of ДБР and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to ДБР, law enforcement officers had information about a resident of Nikopol, who, according to their data, was involved in the distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. They also became aware of 100 thousand dollars США on his crypto wallet.
«Після цього вони розробили план нападу та заздалегідь створили криптогаманець, на який планували переказати цифрові активи потерпілого. Близько опівночі 18 червня 2026 року двоє з підозрюваних у масках напали на чоловіка у Нікополі. Третій спільник координував їхні дії за допомогою засобів зв’язку», said the Bureau.
It is noted that the attackers applied tear gas to the victim and fired several shots from a traumatic weapon in his direction. After that, the man was caught, put shackles on him and inflicted numerous blows to the head, trunk and legs.
Threatening with weapons and further violence, they forced the victim to unlock his mobile phone and got access to his crypto wallet. From there, the cryptocurrency was transferred to a pre-prepared account in the equivalent of about 51 thousand dollars США.
The attackers did not stop there. Under psychological pressure, the man was forced to call his mother and demand money for his release. Fearing for his son's life, the woman handed over 17 thousand dollars США. In general, the victims suffered material damage to more than 3 million UAH.
Three police officers were informed about the suspicion of an attack with the aim of taking possession of someone else’s property committed by a group of persons in a particularly large size and under martial law (Part 4 of Article 187 of КК of Ukraine).
Law enforcement officers were detained. 14 October suspects were chosen preventive measures in the form of detention with the right to pledge 3 million UAH to each. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Other persons involved in a robbery are established.
