"Не зраджуйте Україну": Hundreds of people in London march on США embassy against Trump-Putin diesel deal

In London, hundreds of people gathered near the Embassy of США to oppose the Trump-Putin diesel deal, the easing of sanctions against РФ and Washington’s pressure on Ukraine. They called for maintaining sanctions against the Kremlin and not forcing Kiev to make concessions

This was reported by the organizers of the action, the public organization Campaign for Ukraine.

The action was 16 October. It was organized by Campaign for Ukraine, Ukraine Solidarity Campaign and Vsesvit with support Communities Army of Ukraine. The protest was joined by Ukrainians, British supporters of Ukraine, Americans, as well as representatives of the Georgian, Lithuanian and Polish communities. British parliamentarians, Ukrainian and British activists spoke.

The immediate reason for the protest, according to the organizers, announced 9 October agreement between Trump and Putin on the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the American and world markets. For its implementation, the США administration temporarily eased sanctions. The organizers believe that such decisions give Russia additional revenues for the war and undermine efforts to stop the aggression.

The participants demanded that Washington abandon economic agreements that can finance Russian aggression, maintain sanctions and stop using military assistance and intelligence exchange as leverages for pressure on Kiev. They separately stressed that Ukraine should not be forced to capitulate, territorial concessions or agreements that legitimize the occupation.

Protesters held up posters of “Don’t Betray Ukraine” ("Не зраджуйте Україну"), “How Many Ukrainians per Barrel?” ("Скільки українських життів коштує один барель?"), “Human Lives, Not Fuel Money” ("Людські життя, а не гроші від пального") and “Occupation Is Not Peace” ("Окупація — це не мир"). Others were written “Churchill Never Made Fuel Deals with Hitler” and “How Many Americans Will This Diesel Deal Kill?”.

"Сьогодні ми бачимо небезпечну ситуацію: Росії, яка щодня атакує українські міста, пропонують економічні домовленості та послаблення санкцій, тоді як від України вимагають поступок. Але українці не мають можливості просто припинити боротьбу. Для нас це питання існування нашої держави. Наше майбутнє не може бути предметом домовленостей між Трампом і Путіним. Воно належить українцям", said Campaign founder for Ukraine Олена Іващенко.

The protest was also mentioned in the British Parliament. Депутатка Джоанна Бакстер during an appeal to Prime Minister Енді Бернема called for increasing pressure on Trump and Russia.

This is the second campaign Campaign for Ukraine near the Embassy of США in London. The previous 2025 was held in March after the scandalous meeting between Trump and Zelensky in the Oval Office. The organizers stressed that they are not against the American people, but against the decisions of the administration, which, in their opinion, weaken Ukraine and give advantages to Russia.
