The pontiff added that he hopes that cooperation between both countries will allow the delivery of food and medicines, as well as voluntary and safe evacuation of the civilian population. He also confirmed Святого Престолу's commitment to promoting dialogue and peace.

Зеленський told the Pontiff about the situation with the Russian escalation, Russia’s constant strikes on Ukrainian cities and communities.

"Звісно, говорили також про всі безпекові виклики та загрози, які зараз є, зокрема періодичну відсутність попереджень від партнерів про російські балістичні атаки, що сталося вже тричі за останній час. Дякую Його Святості за підтримку та всі зусилля заради досягнення гідного миру", the president said.
