Putin can place ballistics in Belarus for strikes on western Ukraine - President

President України Володимир Zelensky warned about the possible intensification of Russian attacks on the western regions of the country. According to him, Russia uses the territory of Belarus to place drone repeaters, and in the future may try to place other types of weapons there, in particular ballistic missiles.

The head of state said this, answering questions from journalists.

Zelensky stressed that the threat of strikes on the western part of Ukraine persists. According to him, Russia can prepare for the intensification of attacks, using Belarusian territory to expand the possibilities of using drones.

«Нам відомо, що вони розміщують ретранслятори на території Білорусі, щоби користуватись цим коридором для дронів і посилювати відповідні атаки. Але цього їм замало. Їм потрібна підтримка Лукашенка для того, щоб на території Білорусі були розташовані інші види озброєння, і балістики в тому числі. І, безумовно, розташування балістики на території Білорусі – це загроза буде передусім західній частині нашої держави», the president said.

According to the head of state, the deployment of ballistic weapons in Belarus would pose a serious threat to the Ukrainian regions in the west of the country. At the same time, such a step would mean even deeper involvement of Minsk in the Russian war against Ukraine and would create additional risks for Belarus itself.

Recall that at the end of August it became known that in the Gomel region of Belarus near the village of Yakymivka, near the Ukrainian border, are building a railway infrastructure that can take military trains.

It was also reported that units of the 101 missile brigade of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which is armed with a medium-range missile system «Орєшнік», are located in Belarus.
