This was stated by the President of Молдови Мая Санду at Moldova Security Forum in Chisinau, reports NewsMaker.

"З 2022 року до Молдови приїхали понад 1 млн українців, які втекли від війни, а близько 100 тис. знайшли тут свій дім. Якщо цієї зими в Україні буде так само важко, як очікує весь світ, ми готові прийняти стільки людей, скільки потребуватимуть безпеки", said Sandu.

The former prime minister and special envoy of the president for development and sustainability Дорін Речан also said that Moldova is preparing to provide Ukraine with logistical and energy support and protect its own energy infrastructure.

According to him, the authorities are considering the scenario of a new flow of Ukrainian refugees and have experience in responding to emergencies.

Rechan noted that the power grids of Moldova and Ukraine are connected, so the country is preparing for possible problems with the energy infrastructure. At the same time, according to him, Moldova will not be able to provide Ukraine with the necessary amounts of electricity on its own, but electricity from Romania can flow through its territory.

Представниця Євросоюзу Дорота Dlouchy-Souliga said that ЄС will continue to support the Ukrainian power system, in particular, will supply generators to prevent the most difficult scenario.

Earlier it was reported that Hungary wants to expand temporary protection for Ukrainians in ЄС.
