According to France24, “мобілізацію” protesters were supported by trade unions and the ultra-left opposition party “Нескорена Франція”.

The noon marches are planned in Paris and other French cities.

The protestors were joined by Swedish activist Грета Тунберг. 23-year-old girl, who gained popularity as a teenager thanks to school strikes demanding to take action on climate change, joined the action near the Поля Елюара Lyceum in Saint-Denis, the largest suburb of the capital.

According to the Ministry of Education, only 130 of the 3700 French lyceums was closed yesterday. At the same time, the ministry noted that although the number of closed educational institutions is decreasing, the level of violence during the protests is increasing.

Today, on the air of radio station France Inter, the Minister of Education Едуард Жеффрей reported that approximately 200 educational institutions located near the routes of the marches will be closed to avoid damage.

Officials hope the protests will begin to subside on the eve of school holidays.

Last week, Jeffrey promised that in the coming days, the staff of 114 schools, where there are most teachers, will increase by 3000 educators. 35% seems to have already received an appointment. He rejected the remarks that a number of teachers will teach subjects without adequate training.
