Ukraine does not have a plan B in case of reduction of international assistance, - Hetmantsev

Ukraine does not have domestic sources that could replace international funding in the event of its reduction. We are talking about a deficit in more than ?50 billion that cannot be covered by internal resources

This was stated by the Chairman of the Верховної Ради Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Данило Гетманцев in the "Євроінтеграція" project with Юрієм Фізером on Espreso and Slawa.TV.

According to him, almost half of the funding needed by Ukraine for 2027 is already guaranteed to some extent. At the same time, the government and international partners continue to work on providing the remaining funds.

"Ми все ж таки переконані в тому, що вони не зменшаться, бо у нас є майже половина від необхідності на 27-й рік вже є гарантованою в тій чи іншій мірі. Працюємо над тим, щоб була гарантована і друга частина", said Данило Гетманцев.

He noted that such a situation arises before each new budget period, since international funding is not always guaranteed in advance for the entire next year.

"Така ситуація щороку. І оці питання, які ви мені ставите зараз, вони також з'являються щороку, бо ніколи нема такого, щоб там десь за півроку до початку наступного періоду все вже було забезпечено, все було гарантовано", the committee chairman explained.

According to Данила Гетманцева, the Ministry of Finance, the President and the Prime Minister are working to attract the necessary funding.

"На жаль, з цим треба працювати постійно і Мінфін, наш президент, прем'єр, вони над цим працюють, тому я думаю, що з приводу фінансування буде добре", he said.

At the same time, when asked about Plan B, if international aid after the completion of 2026 begins to significantly decline, Данило Гетманцев responded categorically.

"А ваше питання, який є план Б, якщо не буде фінансування міжнародного, ніякого нема, його не може бути просто", he said.

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee stressed that Ukraine does not have internal sources comparable to the scale of potential financial need.

"Відсутні такі джерела, внутрішні джерела, які можуть бути співставними з діркою у 50 плюс мільярдів євро. Їх нема просто, фізично немає", said Данило Гетманцев.

According to him, no alternative internal solutions will not allow to cover this scale of the deficit.

"Що б ми з вами не говорили, як би ми з вами не фантазували, але їх немає просто фізично де взяти. Тому працюємо по плану А", he concluded.
