Where did the illusion come from that we would be accepted into the European Union by default?
Updated:
Despite the terror that Russia is inflicting on us every day, we are still holding on thanks to the unconditional belief that our endurance will enable our children to live better. In a stable democratic country that is part of a common European space
We are still not so much waiting in the European Union, but they have finally realized that we have a common future, there is no other way out. The need to confront modern challenges and threats creates mutual attraction.
Unfortunately, this leads to a permanent illusion that we will be accepted by default. The position of the authorities, they say, Ukrainians are already suffering for everyone, so we should be given membership without conditions and even under the presidency of the current president, is in contradiction with the internal dynamics of the European Union, which clearly defined and tied both the prospects for membership and money.
І це не три різні пакети. Це одні й ті самі реформи. Від яких залежить як наш вступ до ЄС, так і європейська фінансова допомога та нова зброя.

And the government - executive and legislative - still has the only consensus: unwillingness to change anything. "реформи" It has become obscene, banned for use even in pre-releases, where they are now called "кроками". However, this is not news that the European Commission does not count individual steps, there look at the overall pace of progress. And sensitively react to his absence, which Ukraine significantly signals, although in words, the cameras says something completely different. Do not call them reforms, measures, кроками, - the essence of this will not change. Because the rules under which the Ukrainian state functions have changed. And these changes are needed not only by the European Union in order to accept us, but also by us as a society.
We cannot afford three things today: to continue to imitate реформи, populism and unprofessionalism. Because every refusal to take a step forward to Europe is a real step back to Russia.
