Zelenskyy on energy truce: Armed Forces of Ukraine received all relevant orders
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is ready not to strike Russian energy infrastructure and counts on Russia's similar readiness and the agreement of the President of the United States of America regarding an energy truce.

He stated this in a video address.
Zelenskyy emphasized that he welcomes such an agreement.
"Today there is a statement by the President of the United States that an energy ceasefire has been reached. This is good news for everyone; it is important that this becomes part of reality. Ukraine supports all real and reliable formats of ceasefire and ending the war," he noted.
Zelenskyy recalled that Ukraine has proposed many de-escalation steps.
"Putin said one thing to everything: it was his 'no'. We very much hope that he will finally say something else to America, Ukraine, and the entire world. Something other than killings and deceit. Something that will lead to a real and dignified peace. Ukraine wants peace. The question is whether Russia does," the president said.
"The Armed Forces of Ukraine have received all relevant orders. We are defending Ukraine. We are fighting for support for Ukraine. We support all steps by partners that can help us. We await clear details of America's dialogue with Russia and that Putin will fulfill what President Trump said," Zelenskyy added.
- Earlier today, US President Donald Trump stated that an energy truce in the war between Russia and Ukraine "takes effect immediately".
- Russia has repeatedly agreed to various truces, mostly local or thematic, but has constantly violated them. None of them were fully implemented. For example, late in March last year, Ukraine and Russia committed to stopping mutual strikes on energy infrastructure for 30 days. The temporary moratorium was agreed upon through US mediation. However, Russia immediately violated this truce. Read more in the LB.ua article "Did the energy truce really fail? Main conclusions".
